Flow Switches are designed to sense a loss or decrease in flow. Flow switches, which are available in three standard configurations can be modified to customer-supplied specifications. The option of metallic or engineered plastic material is also available to fulfill application and pricing requirements. The flow switch operates on the same principle as a buoyancy level switch. The magnet is encapsulated in a spring-based shuttle and is located in the flow path of the housing. As the flow increases, the piston pushes forward to open the switch. As the flow decreases, the piston has the ability to close the switch. The flow rate is a function of the piston and bore diameters. It is factory set.
